Who we are
Built for a gap that was not being served.
Terra-Tech exists because mid-market organisations are increasingly held to enterprise standards, and the two available answers were both wrong for them. [Draft copy]
The gap
Mid-market companies are increasingly held to enterprise-grade standards — by regulators, by auditors, or by large customers running vendor due diligence. Meeting those standards has historically required a Big Four or global systems integrator engagement, priced for enterprises.
The alternative — experienced local hires without enterprise programme exposure — cannot produce the architecture, governance and evidence those standards require. Not through any lack of ability; they have simply never had to.
Meeting the standard and affording it were two different vendors. That is the whole reason this firm exists.
The wedge
Consulting firms are priced by their leverage model. A partner sells the work, a pyramid of junior consultants delivers it, and the client funds the pyramid — including the part of it that is learning on the job. For programmes of a certain size that is the only way to staff them.
We removed the pyramid. AI does the volume work that a junior tier used to absorb, which means the people who scope the work are the people who deliver it, at a price a mid-market organisation can actually approve.
Enterprise-grade. Without the enterprise. That is the whole proposition, and the rest of this site is the argument for it. [Draft copy]
The four beliefs
These are the operating principles. Every page on this site should be traceable to at least one of them.
| Belief | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Seniors only | The people who scope the work deliver it. Nobody learns on a client’s project. |
| AI is our leverage, not our upsell | The firm runs on AI internally. It is its own reference case, and we will show you how we work rather than describe it. |
| Rigour is a method, not a headcount | Enterprise-grade is architecture, governance, controls and evidence. It is not manpower. |
| We hand over the keys | The Academy exists to transfer capability, not to create dependency. |
Why we are this size
A firm this size is a constraint we chose, not a stage we are trying to grow out of. Capacity comes from an associate network we have delivered with before, from documenting delivery as it happens rather than afterwards, and from scoping fewer engagements than we could sell.
The honest cost of that is that we cannot take every engagement, and we would rather decline than staff you thinly. [Draft copy]
